My Current Situation

Here's what a 30% chance of rain looks like in North Texas right now...

I'm thankful for the rain don't get me wrong but this is craziness!  All this flooding and people actually dying!  It's just too much!

Thankful tonight to be in my home with my family listening to my little Yorkie bark at the thunder like its an intruder.  Crazy dog...

'Bout To Get 21 Day FIXED!

L told me my birthday present was going to be a little late but like I say better late than never!!! :)

I am SO excited that I was finally able to purchase the 21 Day Fix from Beachbody.  If you follow me on Tumblr you know that I've been researching this for awhile and have seen real people get real results and since I am truly starting all over again what better way to restart than with a new program!

I was hoping to get the Shakeology too but we honestly can't afford it right now.  It's all good.  I'm thankful I even get the program right now.  You know I'll be posting later in the week once my goodies come!!  I also found out a church friend of mine ordered it last week so now I have an accountability partner too! Score!!

If you're on Team Beachbody you can find me under OnlyByGrace.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day and I just want to say thank you to all the men and women who either have served or are serving our country.  I will be forever grateful and will never take for granted the freedom I have because of you.

Memorial Weekend with the In-Laws

This past week stunk. I don't know how else to describe it. I fought a nasty migraine all week and ended up calling in to work Thursday and Friday because it was so bad.

Friday

When L got home from work he wanted to get me out of the house so we went to drop the boys off with their dad. On the way there L kept hinting about leaving out of town to see his parents for a few days. I told him with the boys it would be too difficult but I would talk to their dad when we dropped them off. T (the boys dad) thought it was a great idea and told me to keep the boys and he would get them Sunday night. Sweet! So we headed to the in-laws house that is almost 7 hours away.

We got there about 3:30 in the morning and didn't crash until sometime after 4.  It stormed the last few hours on the road so I was thankful to make it safe.

Saturday

By 10am everyone was up so my MIL made us breakfast and we decided that my husband and his dad would take our oldest and do "guy" things and me, my MIL, and our youngest would do "girl" things. My MIL missed my birthday a few weeks ago so she surprised me with a mani/pedi!!

My nails were super sad so this was definitely a blessing.

It had started raining before we walked in and as we were finishing up it just started pouring. Luckily there was a Payless next door and my MIL bought me some new flip-flops to show off my cute little pink toes.

The guys wanted to cook out despite the rain (my in-laws have this awesome covered porch so we could grill and enjoy this cool, rainy afternoon) so went met them at the grocery store and pick up all the goodies we needed including the ingredients to make our own springrolls.

I'm pretty proud for our first time and the were really good. I think the next time I make them I'm going to add something crunchy like cucumber (or hot Cheetos...that one was a recommendation from a friend. Haha!).

After watching a crazy storm come through and a delicious dinner we decided to hit the last showing of the Avengers: Age of Ultron.  The theater we went to was the oldest one I've ever been to and the seats were terrible but the movie was great.

Seriously, how could you not watch a movie with him in it and not love it.  *swoon*

Sunday

We got an early start since we knew we were going to have to leave early in the afternoon.  Due to all the storms in Texas a lot of roads were closed and we weren't sure how long it was going to take for us to get home.

The boys had been begging to go fishing all day Saturday and due to the rain we knew that wasn't an option but my MIL decided to take us to the creek that we could've went fishing but first she wanted to show us her classroom and school.

My MIL is an 8th grade teacher and she is only going to be teaching for a few more years before she retires and since I don't know when we will be back down I wanted to see where she worked.

Then it was off to the creek.  We knew with the roads being flooded that the creek was going to be interesting and boy was it!

This picture doesn't even do it justice.  I took a few videos of the power of the water and I can tell you I see why people are in trouble in these floods.  I stood there and thought about all the people that have been affected by these storms and it hurts my heart.  My prayers go out to everyone who has lost...

After a quick lunch it was time to pile back in the car and head back home.  There were a few backed up places because of the flooding but all it all it was a smooth ride home and we got home about 9pm.

I enjoyed being away SO much!  I keep telling L that I wish we could move out of the big city to a smaller town.  Don't get me wrong I am a city girl through and through but it's something about a small town.  It's like time just slows down and you don't feel that stress of having to constantly be on the go.  Who knows maybe once the boys are older we can find something that's just outside the city so when I need my fix I'm not that far away. :)

Look Who's Back!

So I've been on the Tumblr scene off and on for this past year and I've noticed that my writing has went south.  No bueno.  The whole point of a blog for me is to write!  So I have revived my blog and plan on being back on here a lot more often.  I am still keeping my Tumblr account and will still post all my randomness there but here is where my heart and thoughts will flow.

So my sister found this little gem while she was looking through old photos at my moms house a few weeks ago.  This was me and my sister at one of her senior football games.  I was a dancer in college and what's crazy is I actually thought I looked fat in this picture.  Deluded much??  I would LOVE to be this "fat" again! Ha!
